About Artworks for Life

Guests, artists, staff, volunteers, corporate sponsors and others enjoyed the gala!

This gala, in its 14th year of success, featured a silent and live auction of over 200 original works of art and jewelry by the area's most prominent artists.

Live music was provided by renowned Detroit Artist Angie Smith thrilled guests that evening.  A light fare of passed Hors D’oeuvres was provided by the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group.  Fantastic desserts compliments of Sweet & Savory Bake Shop (Oxford)  finished up the tasting.  Valet parking and a cash bar were enjoyed by those that attended. 

Attendees were able to purchase $50 tickets, with only 100 being sold to win their choice of ANY live or silent auction item.  The drawing occurred before the live auction began. R#03915.  The winner was Craig Covey, MAC COO and he selected a live auction piece, Paisley Horse, by Jeri Hollister.  

Michigan AIDS Coalition (MAC) thanks the dedicated artists that make this event a success year after year.  It is their tireless dedication to the event, which benefits MAC's amazing programs and services, that continues to make the event a success and grow each year.  Amazingly, to date, these dedicated artists have raised nearly $750,000!  For Artworks for Life 2009, the event raised nearly $40,000 with 300 attendees!
